Angelika Neuwirth

Angelika Neuwirth, Chair of Arabic Studies, Freie Universität Berlin, taught at the universities of Munich, Amman, Ain Shams-Cairo, Bamberg and Berlin. 1994-1999 director of the Orient-Institut der DMG in Beirut and Istanbul. Publications on the Qur’an as literature, and on modern Palestinian and Lebanese literature. Projects: „Jewish and Islamic Hermeneutics as Cultural Critique“ at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin (School of Advanced Studies in Berlin), „Figurations of Martyrdom in Oriental literatures“ at the Zentrum für Literaturforschung in Berlin.
