Olinda Tupinambá

Olinda Tupinambá is a Brazilian multimedia artist, filmmaker, performer, and curator from the Tupinambá and Pataxó Hã-Hã-Hãe peoples. Her practice brings together Indigenous and environmental activism and storytelling. Her films include Kaapora: The Call of the Forest (2020) and Ibirapema (2022). In 2024, she represented Brazil in the Hãhãwpuá Pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale. Her work has been featured at the São Paulo Art Museum, Pinacoteca de São Paulo, and Theaterformen Festival, among others. She has curated film programs in France, Portugal, and Brazil, including the Kaapora Festival of Indigenous and Environmental Film, which she directs. She has been a guest speaker at Brown, Duke, Yale, EHESS, USP, UFBA, and Manchester universities. She currently co-leads Environmental Education and Film in the Atlantic Forest: Eco-Activism Through Indigenous Perspectives with the University of London’s School of Advanced Study.
